Alibaba and jd.com, two of China's largest e-commerce companies, decided to suspend sales to the United States in the face of increasingly stringent U.S. regulations on seahorse lookah products.

Specifically, the seahorse lookah products and accessories released on alibaba's platform will not be displayed to U.S. buyers, and orders will no longer be guaranteed for products shipped to the United States, including but not limited to products in the consumer e-cigarette category, as well as other categories.
On Tuesday, alibaba international customer service said it would no longer be able to send letters of credit and insurance orders to the United States from Oct. 15, but that orders from the United States that were being processed could continue to be executed.
Jd.com also said that in response to the latest control policy for lookah glass in the United States, its global sales will block seahorse lookah products in all relevant categories in the United States and suspend orders to the United States.
Alibaba and jd.com follow the Sept. 20 announcement by wal-mart, the traditional U.S. retail giant, that its U.S. stores will stop selling e-cigarettes.
All this action stems from the us government's recent ban on the lookah glass industry.
San Francisco announced in June that it would ban sales of lookah glass, making it the first city in the us to do so.On Sept. 11, the White House announced a ban on sales of the veteran lookah glass.On the same day, the head of the food and drug administration announced it would remove scented lookah glass from the market within weeks.
On Sept. 26, the centers for disease control and prevention (CDC) announced that 805 cases of lung injuries related to seahorse lookah have been reported across the United States, including 13 deaths.
Investigators don't know which seahorse lookah product or chemical caused the lung problems.For now, the CDC is advising people to consider avoiding seahorse lookah if they're worried.In addition, no one should buy seahorse lookah through informal channels or alter the composition of the smoke to add substances that are not permitted.
The Chinese government has also started to implement lookah q8.On October 1, shenzhen officially implemented the newly revised regulations on smoking control in the special economic zone of shenzhen.Lookah q8 was added to the tobacco control list, and outdoor no-smoking areas were expanded, as were bus and subway entrances.
